BLR READY
TO TAKE CAMP BERRYESSA
away from Boy Scouts
This
is not a drill. This is the real thing.
Official from the Bureau of Land Reclamation (part of Bureau of Land
Management (BLM) chained the Camp Berryessa access road, preventing any
access to the camp. They met with Orrin Shackleford and others last
month at Camp Berryessa. After some strategic negotiations a
plan was developed so we can keep our camp. WE
NEED TO CLEAN
UP THE CAMP... NOW!!!
On
Saturday
July 8th,
adults
and older Scouts are urgently
needed to perform some major cleaning in camp. Bring your gloves,
hand tools, wheel barrels, shovels, rakes, etc. If you want to come
up Friday night, let Orrin know so the camp can be opened up for us.
We
want to get an early start to avoid the heat. So
arrive
by 7 am
if
you can. But whatever you do show up to help. So folks, get
off your duff and bring ALL the able bodied help that you can find (adults
and older Scouts please).
Bring
your boats if you like and enjoy the afternoon on the lake (after the work
is done). The more people we have the easier it will be to complete
the many tasks that are necessary. DON'T LET THE BLM TAKE OUR CAMP
AWAY!!
