Boy Scouts of America 100th Anniversary Display at Benicia Historical Museum At the Historic Camel Barns Opening Sunday February 7th at 1 PM Dr. James Lessenger, MD (Eagle Scout), proposed the idea to the Benicia Historical Society to hose a display for the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts. His original thought was to have a few display cases in the museum. However as the idea got out and contributors started to show up, it was quickly expanded to most of the museum with hundreds and hundreds of Scouting items on display. The following categories have been planned for display: Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Explorer uniforms; Sea Scout, Air Scout and Explorer memorabilia; Merit badges and patches; Scouts on Stamps; Trail to Eagle, Philmont; Order of the Arrow; Religious; National Jamboree; Local activities; Norman Rockwell; Books and Manuals; Awards; Camp Patches; Pins; Woodbadge; Adult recognition; Local Scouting; Scout Stuff. At this point over 1000 items have been cataloged for display. We could use a few more special items. We are looking for Uniform and Scouting items, badges, and awards dating from the teens into the 1920.
